Remembering 9/11: Story of Rick Rescorla

Like any person in life – we’re more than names, we each have a story. On TV this morning, I listened to a handful of the 2,983 names that lost their lives 10 years ago including men, women and children ages 2 – 80 – my heart swelled.

Unfortunately to me, they’re just names and I know very few of their stories. Even though there is sadly so many, I felt the desire this morning to highlight just one to honor all those who lost their lives and I stumbled upon that of Richard Rescorla.

The Four Agreements

I’m a sucker for self-help books. One book I read in college that really changed my outlook on life was The Power of Now. If you haven’t read it, I strongly recommend it.

“Ekhart Tolle’s message is simple: living in the now is the truest path to happiness and enlightenment.”

Because Amazon’s smart, they recently pointed me to The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz which I also ended up loving.

Yes Vs. No People

I’ve found not only are the only people I want to work for are ‘Yes’ people, but also the only people I want to choose to surround myself with on a daily basis are ‘Yes’ people. There are people in life who build relationships and partnerships and there are people in life who break them down. Why do people choose ‘No’? I wonder the same thing. I’ve come to realize ‘No’ requires nothing.
